Kaduna Airport Remodeling Project Approaching Completion
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has made a substantial progress in the remodeling project of the Kaduna Airport. Aimed at enhancing the infrastructure as part of the Federal Government's transformation agenda, substantial completion has reached about 80 percent. The General Manager of Corporate Communications, Hon Yakubu Dati, upholds that the pace of ongoing work signals the airport's readiness in three months.
Airport Operations Temporarily Shifted
As the construction continues, the airport operations have been temporarily moved to the Hajj terminal. The Hajj terminal itself is an accomplishment of the Aviation Minister, Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah, boasting features since its commissioning back in December 2011. Upon completion, the Kaduna Airport is set to showcase state-of-the-art lounges, conveniences, and other world-class amenities.
Future Prospects and Economic Impact
The renovation of the Kaduna Airport is a strategic enhancement in Nigeria's Aviation Master Plan, which includes infrastructure upgrades, institutional reforms, and network expansion of domestic and international hubs. The synergy with the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, is projected to amplify the state's economy and contribute positively to Nigeria's GDP.
